AE Marketing Group Wins 8 Creative Awards for the Largest Employee Documentary Campaign in Health Care History for Network HealthJune - 2018

AE Marketing Group has been recognized by American Advertising Association, The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, The Aster Awards, and The Telly Awards for the largest employee documentary campaign in health care history.

The documentary campaign for Network Health began in 2016 and has followed the personal lives of nearly two-dozen employees at the Wisconsin-based health insurance company. The campaign features unscripted documentary video, journalism, and photography. The nearly 18-month long production involved documenting employees outside of the office and was shot throughout Wisconsin.

“While creative awards are always nice, I am most excited about the impact the documentary campaign has had on Network Health’s employees and the company’s bottom line,” said AE Marketing Group CEO, Brian Walker. “Many healthcare brands have featured employees in marketing activity, but an unscripted employee documentary series was a first of its kind in the category.”

The creative honors for AE Marketing Group and Network Health include:

  • 3 Addy Awards, including the Gold Award from the American Advertising Association
  • 1 Gold Aster Award from Marketing Healthcare Today
  • 1 Silver Telly Award from the 39th Annual Telly Awards
  • 3 Communicator Awards of Distinction from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts

Walker’s idea of the campaign was to humanize Network Health through the lens of its employees. Health insurance is an industry with historically low customer experience levels which most people find incredibly confusing, complex, and intimidating.

“Most people don’t think of hikers, single moms and owners of 136-pound mastiffs when they talk to someone at a health insurance company. But that’s who we are, and just like our customers, we live our lives for our family, friends and this community,” said Marketing Director, Melanie Draheim. “My favorite part of the campaign was that the stories came naturally.”
