Co-Creation is Fashionable at J.CrewOctober - 2018

J.-Crew-Fashionable-Co-creation-AE-Marketing-Group

At AE Marketing Group, we believe in co-creation – companies working hand-in-hand with customers to create better industries, products, and experiences. And apparently, so does J. Crew.

As an increasing number of brands recognize its power, co-creation is becoming more than trendy. These days, it’s downright fashionable.

We mean that quite literally considering how J. Crew launched a unique co-creation initiative in which a 4-year-old fashion prodigy designed an entire line of kids’ clothing for the company.

The precocious designer, who goes by the name “Mayhem,” caught the attention of J.Crew executives with her fashion blog, which is run with the help of her parents. Mayhem’s J.Crew collection was made available in summer 2015.

Like we’ve always said, co-creation can make you look good – sometimes, in more ways than one. And we applaud J.Crew’s willingness to think outside the box when it comes to engaging with consumers, and finding new ideas and avenues toward growth in what may often seem like the unlikeliest of places – such as from a 4-year-old.

But it just goes to show that you never know where co-creation might come from, and where it might take your brand.
